The Dentist Office

Today we went to the dentist for the kids regular cleaning.
Tiffany did a great job getting her teeth cleaned.
Tristan on the other hand has been scared of going to the dentist. Tristan has no enamel on his teeth. So we have been to the dentist a lot in 7 years. He also does NOT like to loose a tooth. Tristan has one more front tooth to loose. Tristan has it down to a fine art to keep a loose tooth from coming out until the dentist has to pull it due to an infection. This tooth is hanging on by a thread. He is afraid of the pain as it comes out. He's afraid the dentist is going to pull it. He is right to have those fears. Once the doctor came and we got a good look in his mouth his gums were all swollen around the loose tooth. I made sure that the doctor was going to pull it. Tristan then went into screaming and crying. Tristan is more afraid of the pain it could cause than anything else. He is wired like his Uncle Kris. Once the tooth was out he is fine other than he now feels like he has been through a traumatic experience.
Tristan is a lucky little man, the tooth fairy usually meets us at Game Stop after a tooth is pulled by the dentist. Tiffany doesn't even ask for anything while there. I think she thinks this will happen for her. She will be disappointed to find that the tooth fairy will visit her as she sleeps.
The rest of the day we are resting at Grandma and Grandpa Sorensens. Here is Tristan getting his prize from the dentist.

From Wal-mart to Paradise

Today we went to the Mall. As we shopped in Bath and Body, Tristan found some cologne. Once he sprayed himself, he knew he must have some for when he goes to school. I was a little apprehensive due to spending money in this manner. But, since it was for school, it might help him look forward to school. I let Tiffany and Tristan pick out some body spray.

When we got in the car, Tristan said very cheerfully he is now 1000% ready for school! Yes!! That frivolous purchase just payed for itself in a little man who is excited to smell good for his fellow students.( I know this little guy is thinking of the girls.) :)

Look who we saw at Wal-mart! We bumped into these guys all over at Wal-mart and it was so much fun! We loved waving each time we saw each other in the store. So, I had to get a picture!:)

I forgot my camera! So I used our cell phones today, which the cell phone takes cruddy pictures. I am going to have to strap my camera to my neck.
Here we are first time ever at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Great place to go! Ronn's parents are taking us out for Ronn's Birthday here. This makes celebrating his birthday to a full week. Anyone who would like to celebrate Ronn's birthday let us know :)

School is coming....

Today the kids and I went to visit Monroe Central Elementary. We wanted to see the school and see what information I needed to pick up before registration starts next week.
The kids became excited to see the playground.
As we made our way into the back of the building due to construction we finally meet the Secretary Karen. She is so nice and out going!!
While we are talking Tristan says he is only 3% ready to come to school. After talking to Karen she had him ready to come the next week. We are all excited about school and are feeling not so anxious. As we loaded in the car the kids said " Wow" "I wish she was our teacher!"
Karen turned out to be a God send a Davine appointment for our family today.
Please pray with us that Tristan would get the teacher that will best help him with anxiety.
Please pray for the teacher in Tiffany's case.:)

Happy Birthday To Ronn! - Early

In the video below, we are sharing a special moment. Kris and Tammy came over to celebrate Ronn's B-day. No one knew I was video taping!

so for all you FFC peeps, here is another "Kris Moment."

Famous Kris Quote (following the taping of the video):

"If I knew that was being taped, I would have sang out of tune."

More to come on Ronn's birthday...

The Roberts Came to Visit

Today the Roberts came to visit. We meet at FFC then came to the farmhouse to eat lunch. They have brought there daughter Jessie to stay with us for a while. Thanks you for our house warming gifts!
Tiffany enjoyed snapping green beans. Tiffany took it very seriously.:)

Jaden came over to hang out at the Oren's too. Here we are getting ready for our tour of the farm. Our Tour guide is none other than "The" Ronn Oren.

We of course did our usual raspberry and cherry picking. Here is Jaden and Tegan hanging out.

Here's Jessie picking cherry's. She was being attacked by a vicious swarm of man eating flies. That explains her facial expression. Note that she is a professional and this should not be tried at home.

Grandma Sorensen entertained the kids while we all worked. THANK YOU Grandma!!

THANK YOU Tammy for picking up some groceries for us too! Wow, my first ever hyperlink. I hope it works.:)

Our Summer Day

Here is the run down on the day. It was a hot day, 90 degrees and high humidity.
Grandma Sorensen is in town. Yeah! This is one crazy lady and we love her just the way she is. Never a dull moment with Grandma around. I keep telling her she needs to write a book. She really should start her own blog!! She should start with stories starting with childhood. That way, when you die mom, we can read them off your blog. (Hey, keeping it real) She could call her new blog.... Memories, Strolling down memory lane, Funny Farm, Briar Crest (you can ask me why later mom :) It's off a movie we use to tease you about.

Uncle Kris, Aunt Tammy, and the little one, came over for a cook out. Ronn took care of the grilling. No fires or mishaps. Yeah! Here are pictures of the kids in the sprinklers.

Here is Uncle Kris up to mischief. I hope you can see his big grin. He loved teasing the kids. Then it became a big hit to kink the hose.

Yeah, Daddy is home!

Here is our sick gator. We love our gator. We've only had it a short time and don't know what we would do with out it. Get better Gator!

Thank you Rodney (Ronn's Dad) for helping our Gator!

Here we are exploring after dinner. Raspberry and flower picking.

The night came to a close. Tegan fell asleep right after his bath. Good Night!!

Summer Fun!

I couldn't resist putting this picture on here. This is right after we picked some raspberries.
We thought we needed to beat the heat this summer, so here is our new toy.
I think that the kids are much more excited about the pool than Ronn!
Summer Fun!

People Shapers

We are happy to be home. We moved back into Farmland just 3 weeks ago. We live in the farmhouse that Ronn grew up in. Ronn and I have been in the ministry 13 years, and have been away from Farmland for the last 5 years.

One thing that makes us happy to be back is our family and church family. These are the people that are going to shape our kids lives. We know that our family, church family, and friends share the same values. What a great reason to move back to the community.

The following verse from Deuteronomy really reinforces how important it is that we pass on our Christian values to our children.

"Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them." - Deut. 4:9

Hum-dinger of a Day

Today, my day started early. Before 9:00 am Tegan had climbed on top of our dining table and dumped all the salt out of the salt shaker.

Then came the surprise diaper...

We did math and reading this morning, a Wal-mart trip, and worked outside in the yard. We even had a sleep-over tonight! What a day.

The End.

Bear With Me...

I AM NOT TECHNICAL AT ALL!!!!

I am now just learning how to text on my phone. No joke. I just bought a new digital camera and I am still trying to figure out how to delete my pictures off of it. Even right now I am dictating to my husband who is typing and getting this post, on my blog. - Thanks Honey.

So, bear with me!

Overwhelming Response!

Thank you so much for all your comments, it really made my day! I am looking forward to meeting all the FFC "peeps."

Thanks, Yvette.

Memorable First Day Blogging

I won't forget my first day blogging! After church we went to my brother's house for lunch. I have been putting off starting my blog. So as we were sitting around we thought this would be a good time to get me set up. Just as we are getting me set up the grill starts fire. I don't mean little fire, I mean huge flames. Most important note, we saved the chicken, most of them.

All through lunch I have been making fun of my brother, specifically how his bio picture looks 'special' on his blog site. It's my sisterly duty to make fun of him...relentlessly. Which, in translation, means change your photo on your blog. As I am trying to figure out what to write on my profile, I end up giving up working on the blog at his house and told Kris I will just finish it at home. To my surprise, my 'special' brother logged on to my blog after I left his house and added something of his own. I actually loved it and thought all my bloggers would love it too. So, what follows is HIS writting on MY blog while I was away from the computer.

I have no idea what to put here! Let's see... oh I know... I have a mentally challenged brother who is the coolest cat this side of the Mississippi. You can check his blog out at http://www.changeisgood4u.com/

That is funny! But I have something much funnier, notice the knobs are melted off!
